HKBU signs agreement with Simon Fraser University to explore collaboration opportunities

浸大與西門菲沙大學簽署合作協議

Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU) and Simon Fraser University (SFU) in Canada signed a Memorandum of Understanding to strengthen ties between both parties and to enhance future academic collaboration.

Professor Roland Chin, President and Vice-Chancellor of HKBU and Professor Andrew Petter, President and Vice-Chancellor of SFU signed the agreement at HKBU on 30 October.

Under the agreement, both universities will explore the collaboration of 2+2 and double degree programmes; exchange of scholarly publications and information; exchange of faculty, staff, and students; development of study abroad opportunities; development of collaborative research programmes or projects of mutual interest; discussion of academic and administrative developments, including co-sponsorship of symposia, seminars and conferences; cooperation in the development of education generally, including the potential for offering joint programmes; and pursuit of consulting and project opportunities.

Professor Roland Chin is pleased with the agreement, stating: “SFU is one of the leading comprehensive universities in Canada, and is ranked one of the top universities in the world. I am sure our collaboration will lead to many innovative projects that can bring enormous benefits to both universities in internationalisation, research, teaching and learning.”

香港浸會大學與加拿大西門菲沙大學(Simon Fraser University)於10月30日簽署合作協議,推動雙方的學術聯繫和未來合作。

協議由浸大校長錢大康教授和西門菲沙大學校長派特教授(Professor Andrew Petter)聯合簽署。

根據協議,兩所大學會合辦「二加二」和雙學位課程、推動學術交流、研究合作、顧問項目及合辦國際會議、研討會等。

錢校長對簽署合作協議表示高興:「西門菲沙大學是加拿大及世界前列的綜合大學。我深信這次合作將會帶來更多的創新項目,推動國際化、教學和研究,造福兩校。」
