Student delegations win six awards at Model United Nations Conferences

學生代表團超卓表現 奪模擬聯合國會議六獎項

The University sent two student delegations to the Model United Nations (MUN) Conferences held in London and Hong Kong. With the teams’ brilliant performance, they successfully clinched six awards at the conferences, including Best Performance, Best Position Paper, Honourable Mention and Best Delegation.
 
This year’s London International MUN Conference attracted students from over 190 countries and regions. The HKBU delegation represented America, Germany, Russia, China and Azerbaijan in different simulated committees to discuss a range of pressing international issues. Two of the HKBU delegates, Cheng Ho-man (China Studies – Sociology, Year 2) and Zhao Fanyuan (Accounting, Year 3) received praise from the judges and won the Best Position Paper and Honourable Mention respectively for their outstanding performance.

At the Hong Kong MUN Conference, the HKBU delegation showcased excellent diplomatic skills through their speeches and the ability to make tough compromises with delegates from around the world. Throughout the intense discussions and dynamic negotiations, they demonstrated great enthusiasm and a strong team spirit.

Among the delegates, Chuang Hoi-kiu (Faculty of Social Sciences, Year 1) with his partner Ha Giabao (Associate Degree, Year 1), and Leo Leung (Accounting, Year 2) with his partner Karla Ng (China Studies, Year 1) were named Best Delegation. Ng Chun-sing (International Journalism, Year 3) and Zeng Xingle (Organisational Communication, Year 3) captured the award for Best Performance while Yuen Tsun-kit (Government and International Studies, Year 3) and Zhao Lingbo (Government and International Studies, Year 2) were awarded the Best Position Paper. Honourable Mention was given to Cao Xinyue (Accounting, Year 1), Morris Chan (School of Communication, Year 1), Chu Ka-ki (Governmental and International Studies, Year 2), Lai Chun-fung (Geography, Year 2), Tin Yi-kui (Governmental and International Studies, Year 2) and Zhao Fangyuan.

大學早前分別派出兩隊學生代表團參加在倫敦和香港舉行的「模擬聯合國會議」,15位同學的傑出表現成功為校取得六項殊榮,包括「最佳表現」、「最佳論文獎」和「榮譽獎」,並榮膺「最佳隊伍」。
 
今年的「倫敦國際模擬聯合國會議」吸引了來自全球逾190個國家及地區的學生參加。浸大代表團分別在不同的專責委員會會議上,模擬美國、德國、俄羅斯、中國和亞塞拜然的與會代表,討論多個國際間迫切性議題。浸大代表團成員鄭皓文同學(中國研究──社會學二年級)與趙方圓同學(會計學三年級)的非凡表現贏得評審讚賞,分別奪得「最佳論文獎」和「榮譽獎」。

另外在「香港模擬聯合國會議」方面,浸大代表團在整個討論和協商過程中,以至模擬演說和與其他與會代表達成和解協議等方面,都充分展現出卓越的談判技巧、外交本色和團體精神,其中莊凱喬同學(社會科學院一年級)與何家寶同學(副學士一年級),以及梁思惟同學(會計學二年級)與伍伊琳同學(中國研究一年級)同時榮膺「最佳隊伍」;伍鎮星同學(國際新聞三年級)與曾星樂同學(組織傳播三年級)獲得「最佳表現」;袁浚傑同學(政治及國際關係三年級)與趙凌波同學(政治及國際關係二年級)贏得「最佳論文獎」;曹馨月同學(會計學一年級)、陳灝潮同學(傳理學院一年級)、朱嘉祺同學(政治及國際關係二年級)、黎振峰同學(地理學二年級)、田宜鉅同學(政治及國際關係二年級)與趙方圓同學則奪得「榮譽獎」。
