Humanities student awarded full scholarship to pursue MPhil at Cambridge University

Jacky Tse, a final year student of Humanities, was recently awarded The Women’s Foundation Hong Kong Scholarship of about HK$400,000 to support his MPhil in Multi-disciplinary Gender Studies at the University of Cambridge in the UK.

Jacky explored and applied for the scholarship by himself and he was very pleased to have been granted the award. He would like to thank professors and teachers at HKBU who have supported him in pursuing his dreams, especially Professor Eva Man, Head, and Dr Amy Lee, Associate Professor, of the Department of Humanities and Creative Writing, and also Ms Rita Singh, Senior Lecturer of the Language Centre.

Aiming to focus his future research on comparative literature, Jacky hopes his studies in Cambridge will help pave the way towards an academic career.

Jacky was also awarded the HSBC Overseas Scholarship and completed a one-year exchange programme at University College London in the UK in 2012-13.
