Physical Education student Ng Kiu-chung shines again at Rings competition

Ng Kiu-chung (Physical Education and Recreation Management, Year 3), who represented Hong Kong at the 2013 National Individual Artistic Gymnastics Championships recently held in Wubei, clinched a bronze medal in the Rings event with a score of 15.05 points. His competitors were around 60 full-time athletes.

Kiu-chung had earlier won the Rings competition at last year’s Artistic Gymnastics Asian Championships. He is now a winner at four international competitions. Kiu-chung started to practise gymnastics at the age of four. He became a member of the Hong Kong athletics team in 2002. After winning a bronze medal in Rings event at the World Cup three years ago he began to focus on this sport. Kiu-chung said the sport of Rings demands great upper body agility and strength. Currently, he practises 25 hours per week. His next target is the 2014 Asia Games.
