Visual Arts graduates claim awards at Fresh Trend 2018 Art Graduates Joint Exhibition

Academy of Visual Arts graduates Livy Leung and Zac Choy won three awards at the Fresh Trend 2018 Art Graduates Joint Exhibition.

Livy’s work “It’s okay, everybody will get tired” won the Contemporary of Angela Li Art Award as well as the Winsor & Newton Award. She said, “My painting illustrated that ‘it’s okay, everybody gets tired’ and that we deserve a moment to lay down and relax our overloaded bodies and minds; there are just so many things that worry us, and so much happening in the world.”

Zac’s artwork “I can now do what others deem tedious” is an interactive installation which won him the Affordable Art Fair Art Award. With the aim of exploring new ways of seeing, Zac selected short text from Hong Kong literature that best described his feelings after graduation. He incorporated it with interactive media, hoping to create a new viewing experience and promote Hong Kong literature.
