Business postgraduate students receive GRCI Compliance Young Achievement Award

Two postgraduate students of the School of Business were presented with the Compliance Young Achievement Award 2018 by the GRC Institute (GRCI) in Australia for their outstanding academic performance and exceptional understanding of compliance.
The two awardees from the Master of Science in Applied Accounting and Finance programme, Cao Yumiao (Year 1) and Ling Kwok-hong (Year 2) are entitled to a full scholarship to enrol in the GRCI course “Certificate IV in Compliance & Risk Management”, an internationally recognised qualification in the compliance field, with a two-year complimentary membership.
Yumiao said the award is an unexpected reward from the master’s programme. “I am looking for a career change from a former investment analyst to a compliance professional, so this programme has opened up new doors for me. This award and the GRCI recognition will serve as a strong testament of my knowledge and understanding of the field to my future employers.”
Kwok-hong was thankful for the recognition. “Compliance professionals are in increasingly high demand as regulations on both financial and non-financial businesses are stricter than ever. The master’s programme has provided us with real-world case studies and practical insights from professors. These have formed a solid foundation for me to further develop my career along the path of regulation and compliance.”
