Deputy Commissioner of Ministry of Foreign Affairs in HK speaks on China’s role in an ever-changing world


Mr Yang Yirui, Deputy Commissioner, the Office of the Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China in the HKSAR, delivered a lecture on “Major-Country Diplomacy & Belt and Road — China’s Role in an Ever-Changing World” at HKBU on 21 March. 
In the lecture, Mr Yang said that the world is experiencing unprecedented major developments, changes, and restructuring. Against this background, countries all over the world are paying attention to the decision, role and function of China. The Lecture focused on how China facilitates the establishment of the new international relations model and “a community of shared future for mankind” in view of the current international situation, relationship between China and major countries, the Belt and Road initiative, and other factors. 
Organised by the Faculty of Social Sciences, the Lecture attracted about 90 participants, including students, staff, alumni and external guests.
