Physical Education student claims bronze in Asian swimming championship

Keith Sin (Physical Education and Recreation Management, Year 1) clinched a bronze medal in the 400m individual medley of the Asian Age Group Swimming Championship 2017 held in Uzbekistan.
Keith was pleasantly surprised he won a medal as he did not intentionally prepare or receive training for this competition. He said that in the past two months he had focused on training for the World Swimming Championship Budapest and National Games Tianjin which are marathon harbour races. As this competition was held indoors, he handled it with the strength he developed from his regular training.
From the Championship he realised that there is a significant gap between his capability and the world standard. He said he will pay more attention to the small details of his daily life, such as adjusting his dietary habits and daily routine to make steady progress.
Keith began his undergraduate study at HKBU this year. He said he plans to devote his time to learning and will maintain close communication with tutors of the Department of Physical Education to see how he can best strike a balance between training, participating in competitions and his studies.
