Chinese medicine researchers awarded for outstanding bone research


Two Post-Doctoral Research Fellows of the Law Sau Fai Institute for Advancing Translational Medicine in Bone & Joint Diseases, School of Chinese Medicine, have recently won awards at international conferences for their excellent bone studies.

Dr Liang Chao won the 2017 Webster Jee Young Investigator Award for his poster presentation entitled “From precision medicine to drug discovery: inhibition of osteoblastic Smurf1 promotes bone formation in distinctive individuals with age-related osteoporosis”. The award-winning presentation was made at the 2017 International Chinese Musculoskeletal Research Society-Orthopaedic Research Society (ICMRS-ORS) Membership Meeting held in San Diego, USA.

Dr Yu Yuanyuan won a travel award for her poster presentation entitled “An innovative gain-loss cell-SELEX strategy for development of a nucleic acid aptamer against PD-L1 for immunotherapy of triple negative breast cancer”. The award-winning presentation was made at the fourth Oxford symposium on aptamers, Aptamers 2017, held in Oxford, UK.


梁超博士在美國聖地牙哥舉行的ICRMS-ORS會員會議上,以海報形式介紹題為「從精準醫學到藥物發現:抑制成骨細胞Smurf1活性來促進骨質疏鬆特定人群的骨形成」研究,獲得2017 Webster Jee青年學者獎。

于媛媛博士在英國牛津大學舉辦的第四屆適配子大會上,以海報形式介紹了題為「利用新型gain-loss cell-SELEX技術開發用於免疫治療三陰性乳腺癌的抗PD-L1核酸適配」的研究,獲頒發遊歷獎。
