BBA student team claims top eight ranking in business case analysis contest

A team of two Year 1 students from the School of Business, Lawrence Chan and Vivian Lai, was recently recognised as among the eight outstanding teams in the Business Sustainability and Risk Management Case Analysis Competition 2017 organised by the Association of International Accountants (AIA) Hong Kong branch.
The competition challenged teams to conduct a business case analysis and corporate social responsibility (CSR) report by using a case study that adopts the international Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) standards. With information given on the company’s background, contestants were required to prepare a brief CSR report, based on four selected GRI G4 indicators, for a Hong Kong-based construction company named Good Hope Group. The HKBU team was recognised for an outstanding report and compensation solution focusing on long-term sustainability.

Organised by the AIA for the second year, the competition aims to raise awareness and knowledge of sustainable business. This year, a total of 29 universities and higher education institutions across Hong Kong, Mainland China and Macau took part in the competition.
