HKBU sports teams shine at Jackie Chan Challenge Cup

HKBU sports teams shone at the recent 20th Jackie Chan Challenge Cup Hong Kong. The women’s volleyball team won the championship for the third consecutive year while the men’s basketball team and the men’s table tennis team were second runners-up in their events.
Lou Ka-wai, captain of the women’s volleyball team, said that although some senior team players had graduated this year, many newcomers strove hard in their training, with a good attitude, and were willing to try many different winning strategies. In addition, the Department of Physical Education has provided additional assistant coaches to enhance their training, and this definitely helped the team win the championship again.
Hosted by Lingnan University, the annual Jackie Chan Challenge Cup Hong Kong Universities Ball Games Tournament attracts hundreds of students from the eight UGC-funded universities who compete in events including basketball, table tennis, soccer and volleyball.
