The HKBU Enactus team receives recognition from the judges for their creative business initiatives and wins a number of honours at two social entrepreneurship competitions

Enactus student delegation shines in two social entrepreneurship competitions

創行學會學生代表隊稱霸兩項社會企業大賽

A team of 14 HKBU students from the student interest club Enactus recently participated in the Enactus China Regional Competition and successfully won the championship of the Hong Kong Region and a number of awards including Best Enactus Spirit Team, Best Supporting Organisation – Knowledge Transfer Office while team member Tsui Ka-ho (Government and International Studies, Year 4) and alumna Charmaine Lo, former President of Enactus of HKBU, were named Best Team Leader and Best Alumni respectively. With their creative business plans, the team also scooped both the championship and first runner-up prize at the Enactus Hong Kong Social Business Super Bowl with Tam Wai-chung (Human Resources Management, Year 4) named Best Speaker.

In the two competitions, the team effectively used entrepreneurial activity to empower people to improve their livelihood in an economically, socially and environmentally sustainable way. The winning team comprised Wang Shihao, Lyu Jiayou, Deng Hanyu (Faculty of Science, Year 1), Ng Yi-lam, Fung Sum-yi (School of Business, Year 1), Kong Chak-ming, Lai Wing-yan, Liu Mei-tong, Leung Wing-lam (Human Resources Management, Year 2), So Kin-fung (Information Systems and e-Business Management, Year 2), Ng Wing-sum (School of Chinese Medicine, Year 3), Cheung Cheuk-kwan (Marketing, Year 4), Tsui Ka-ho and Tam Wai-chung .

“HomeTaste”, the business project which brought two honours to the team, is an idea that connects travellers to Hong Kong with local citizens online. The platform enables participating locals to earn extra income by offering unique homemade meals to the travellers. At the same time, visitors get a chance to learn more about local cuisine and customs through direct interaction with citizens.

Another award-winning project “Friendly Hong Kong” aims to promote barrier-free culture in Hong Kong by providing information on local barrier-free restaurants so as to raise social awareness and concern towards the development of a barrier-free society.

Both the Enactus China Regional Competition and Enactus Hong Kong Social Business Super Bowl showcase how students are transforming lives and enabling progress through entrepreneurial activity. The HKBU team will be competing with the winners of the Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Chengdu, Dalian, Beijing and Shanghai rounds at the Enactus China National Competition to be held in late May. The champion of the national competition will then represent China to compete with winning teams across 36 countries at the Enactus World Cup to be held in Toronto, Canada in September.

浸大學生興趣組織創行學會14名同學早前組成隊伍參加「創行社會創新大賽」,成功勇奪中國站香港賽區冠軍,以及多個獎項包括「最體現創行精神獎」、「最佳支持機構──香港浸會大學知識轉移處」,成員徐嘉豪同學 (政治及國際關係學四年級) 和前任浸大創行學會會長羅錦妍校友亦分別贏得「最佳團隊隊長獎」和「最佳校友獎」。此外,代表隊憑著富創意的商業項目概念,並同時囊括另一項「香港創行社會企業超級碗」賽事的冠亞軍,譚為忠同學 (人力資源管理學四年級) 更榮膺「最佳演講者」。

學生代表隊於兩項大賽中充分採取富有企業家精神的行動,透過創意特色的商業計劃,有效幫助社群以經濟、社會、環境等可持續方式改善生計。得獎隊員包括王士豪、呂嘉優和鄧瀚宇 (理學院一年級)、吳伊霖和馮心怡 (工商管理學院一年級)、江澤鳴、賴潁銦、廖美棠和梁咏琳 (人力資源管理學二年級)、蘇建峯 (資訊系統及電子商貿學二年級)、吳穎沁 (中藥學三年級)、張卓君 (市場學四年級)、徐嘉豪和譚為忠。

為代表隊贏得兩項殊榮的商業項目名為「HomeTaste」,是以網上市場的經營模式連繫到港旅客和本地市民。市民可為旅客烹調特色的本土美食從而賺取額外收入,另一方面旅客亦可透過服務認識香港的飲食文化和風土人情。

另一得獎項目「Friendly Hong Kong」旨在於香港社區推廣無障礙文化,為有需要人士提供全港無障礙的飲食資訊,藉此提升市民大眾對無障礙社區發展的認知和關注。

「創行社會創新大賽」和「香港創行社會企業超級碗」旨在展示學生如何透過商業行動改善和促進社群的生活。浸大學生代表隊隨後將參加於5月下旬舉行的創行世界盃中國站賽事,與來自廣州、深圳、成都、大連、北京和上海賽區的優勝者競逐中國站冠軍,得勝隊伍將獲選代表中國參加9月在加拿大多倫多舉行的創行世界盃總決賽,與全球36個國家的優勝隊伍一較高下。
