HKBU team shines at inter-collegiate cross country race


HKBU athletes excelled at the 2015-16 University Sports Federation of Hong Kong (USFHK) Cross Country Race, claiming the first runner-up prizes in the categories of Overall Championship and Men’s Team.
In addition, Wong Tsz-yan (Physical Education and Recreation Management, Year 3) captured a silver medal in the Women’s Individual contest.
Mr Lam Ho-fung, Lecturer of the Department of Physical Education and cross country team coach, expressed his satisfaction with the athletes’ performance; especially as they did their best and fully demonstrated team spirit in the race. The Department has provided all-round support to athletes, such as intensive training in order to elevate their standard. To continue HKBU’s excellent result, the department will proactively recruit and nurture new members. 
This annual competition is one of the major sports events hosted by USFHK. A total of 167 athletes from 11 tertiary institutions participated in this event.
