I would like to express my sincere gratitude to my final year project’s supervisor Dr Ho Man-ho, Lecturer of the Department of Mathematics, who gave me valuable suggestions. I would like to thank Dr Li Yutian, Research Assistant Professor, and Dr Zeng Tieyong, Assistant Professor, as well for their time spent to discuss with me on my projects. My gratitude also extends to Professor Philippe G Ciarlet, City University of Hong Kong, who allowed me to sit in on his courses and helped me a lot in my application.”

École Polytechnique is among the most selective and prestigious establishments in France. Among its alumni are three former French presidents, three Nobel Prize winners, a Fields Medalist and so on.

The Ingénieur Polytechnicien Program is a four-year curriculum comprising high-level scientific education with emphasis on international exposure, interpersonal skill development, and leadership training. Upon completion of his studies in France, Mingkun plans to continue his PhD study in mathematics.
