SCM PhD student wins Best Thesis Award for outstanding research paper on translational medicine in bone and joint diseases

Liang Chao, PhD student from the School of Chinese Medicine, recently won the "Clinical and Translational Medicine Best Thesis Award" at the 6th Sino-American Symposium on Clinical and Translational Medicine (SAS-CTM) for his excellent research paper on translational medicine in bone and joint diseases.

His paper entitled "Discovery of Small Molecules to Promote BMP Signaling and Bone Formation" introduced to the scientific community a natural product that inhibits the function of Smurf1 and promotes BMP signaling responsiveness and bone formation.
